Strong warning from the president of Vélez Sarsfield about Valentín Gómez "The club must support him mentally"

Vélez Sarsfield president Fabián Berlanga spoke about the difficult situation that Valentín Gómez is going through after the failed operation with the Foster Gillett Group , and made clear the negative impact it had on the club and on the player himself.

Without hesitation, and trying to explain the reason why Fortín let go of the player without receiving payment beforehand, Berlanga justified: “We were always assured that payment would arrive, but it never happened. Regarding the negotiations with Udinese, the president of Vélez explained that the operation did not go through because the money never arrived in a timely manner: “They gave us guarantees, but they were not the conditions we needed. Vélez trusted the offer because a commitment had been signed , but without payment, the sale could not be made.” He also assured that the club is still interested in transferring the defender and that they will look for new options in the next market.

Regarding the continuity of Sebastián Domínguez as coach, Berlanga made it clear that there will be no changes in the short term: “In Argentine football, quick solutions are often sought, but the processes must be respected .” He also stressed that it would not be logical to replace the coach in the middle of a series of matches without giving time to work to a possible successor.
